IS RV INSURANCE REQUIRED?
Do you tow or drive your RV? If you have a travel trailer, it can be covered by the policy of the tow vehicle. However, if you have financed your RV the lender usually requires full RV coverage insurance.
If you can drive it (Motorhome), like all vehicles, it will require at least liability insurance, but again if financed expect a full-coverage mandate from the lender.
Either way, having RV Insurance is a smart move.
What Does RV Insurance Cover?
RV policies are similar to
Auto policies in several ways;
(comprehensive, collision, uninsured motorists coverage) however there are certain optional features that are specific to RV Insurance –
- Personal Property & Belongings Coverage
- Personal Attachments Coverage
- Storage Coverage
- Pet Injury Coverage
- Emergency Expense Coverage
- Vacation Liability Coverage
Summary on RV Insurance
With all of the optional coverages it's easy to be underinsured on your RV. Do I need this? Do I get that? Is this important?
You never want to find yourself on the
underinsured side of things, on the other hand, you don’t want to pay for coverage you don’t need.
